WENDOs are versatile DIY holders designed by GRAVITYSHAPES and almost as extensive as a Swiss pocket knife. This WENDO set (version 2.0) contains 3D print data for WENDOs in sizes S, M, L and XL. There are two standard external shapes (round and spiky) as well as various accessories (inserts) for e.g. tealights or glasses (with threaded parts for several everyday glasses such as small and large spice jars, jam, silver onion, spice cucumber and sauced glasses).
Thus, a 3D printer can print WENDOs, e.g. as a tealight holder, flower vase, pencil holder, plant pot or for various other stuff. WENDOs can also be rotated 180 degrees so that e.g. tealights or your own vases can also be placed into the WENDO.
The WENDO version 2.0 included here has an ideal double ring system. This makes the objects easy to use for new purposes without having to be disassembled. The inner ring (accessory) is simply exchanged with another threaded part, a tealight holder or a floor plate, and the WENDO can be used for something new.
Equipment: All four WENDO sizes are included in the download package. Each WENDO size has its own accessories. The XL-WENDO has e.g. most threaded rings, since it can hold even larger glasses. The smallest WENDO (S), however, is more suitable only as a tealight holder. The size M is already suitable for small spice jars. The size L for small and large spice jars as well as jam jars etc. Teelights can be used with all WENDO sizes. The set consists of 41 different STL data.
Standard shapes: The WENDOs of sizes S, M and L can be built in round as well as in spiky shape. The XL-WENDO is only available in round. (The spiky shape part of the size L could – without scaling (!) -, however, possibly also fit with XL. Both have 2.85 mm connections.)
Own shapes: Some WENDO sizes are also designed in such a way that it is also possible to use raw 3D printing filaments, instead of printing the outside shape. In the holes of size XL and L fits 2.85 mm thick filament, in the holes of size S 1.75 mm thick filament. This is ideal, to create a own exterior form with for example old filament. If you are creative, make a shape mold with e.g. clay and then melt the raw filament into the mold with a blow dryer. This allows you to easily design your own individual shapes, while still using your old filament in a new way (upcycling).
Printing and assembling: Each standard WENDO consists of 63 (the XL of 83) parts. They need a ground ring, a double ring, one of the accessories (for a glass or tealight etc.) as well as 60 Shapesticks for the outside (“Shapestick” round or spiky, or your own shapesticks – see info above). The XL-WENDO, on the other hand, is the only one made of 80 instead of 60 shapesticks. If the print result is optimal, all parts can be simply inserted into one another.
Standard WENDO sizes (assembled):
Round shape – Size S: Approx. 8.8 x 8.8 x 7.4 cm (also suitable for 1.75 mm filament)
Round shape – Size M: Approx. 10.8 x 10.8 x 9.1 cm
Round shape – Size L: Approx. 18 x 18 x 15 cm (also suitable for 2.85 mm filament)
Round shape – Size XL: Approx. 21.8 x 21.8 x 18 cm (also suitable for 2.85 mm filament)
Spiky shape – Size S: Approx. 14.6 x 14.6 x 9.5 cm (also suitable for 1.75 mm filament)
Spiky shape – Size M: Approx. 18 x 18 x 11.7 cm
Spiky shape – Size L: Approx. 23.2 x 23.2 x 15.1 cm (also suitable for 2.85 mm filament)
Spiky shape – size XL: no separate outer part, but the size L should fit (also suitable 2.85 mm filament)
